Medical Technology and Bio Technology assignments

· Completed a 2.5-year business integration assignment of the German and UK divisions of a US respiratory diagnostic company by introducing new business management processes and organizational effectiveness policies and procedures
· Conducted a business analysis and feasibility study for Primascreen, a start-up that targets G-Protein Coupled Receptors (CPCRs) to identify potential toxicities in lead compounds early in the drug development cycle.
· Developed the business plan for the IDSI pre-clinical animal imaging business and devised the M&A strategy for the divestiture of this business. I succeeded in finding a buyer for this business to allow IDSI to focus on its core business, optical breast imaging for cancer diagnosis.
· Prepared a business plan and market analysis for an ultrasound-guided, prostate cancer therapy treatment planning system for radioactive seed implants for Rosses Medical, a Columbia, MD start-up. Also did the organizational restructuring and contributed to the hiring of the new sales and marketing staff. I was again retained by the company to take responsibility for M&A activities. In August 2003, I began working closely with radiation oncologists, urologists as well as with companies with a prostate cancer franchise to find a partner for Rosses Medical. After months of negotiations with several prospects, Rosses Medical successfully merged with Implant Sciences in the summer of 2005.
· Principal advisor to the Chairman of Elbit Medical and the President/CEO of Elscint on the strategy for increasing the shareholder value of Elscint, an Israeli medical technology company. This assignment lead to the sale of part of Elscint to Picker/Marconi Medical and part to G.E Medical.
· Advisor to the Chairman, OEC Medical on technology assessment and on a product diversification strategy for his company which was the #1 surgical imaging company in the USA before being acquired by GE Medical
· Investigated a bio-imaging business opportunity and conducted a feasibility study at the University of Minnesota on behalf of Interneuron Pharmaceutical of Lexington, MA
· Refined the marketing strategy and message of Access Radiology/eMed, the largest independent tele-radiology and diagnostic image networking company in the U.S.
·Developed the business plan at Argus Scientific, completed the design, product development and manufacturing of a unique “open architecture” MRI system dedicated to orthopedic applications. Product concept and company were subsequently sold.
· Devised the marketing and distribution strategy for the entry into the U.S. medical market of MGPI, a diversified radiation protection device manufacturer from France
· Wrote the business plan for the Dunlee Division of Picker/Marconi Medical to expand their business and diversify their product portfolio beyond their captive internal market. Philips Medical (a division of NV Philips BV), the no. 2 medical imaging company in the world, recently acquired Marconi Medical.
· Responsible for business development in the US for the Israeli firm, Bioview that has recently developed a unique cell imager for haematologic cell morphology and cytogenetics

Information Technology assignments

·Defined the US business strategy and prepared the marketing plan for CELL SA, a French "hi-tech" computer/Internet based instrumentation company.
·Prepared the business plan for Blue Nomad, a Silicon Valley software firm specializing in the development of leading edge applications for Palm OS handheld computers. Blue Nomad is a Redwood City, CA company.
·Redesigned the control circuitry of a solid state credit card size personal electronic dosimeter for Fuji Electric, a large Japanese electronic company.
·Wrote the business plan and prepared the marketing strategy for Zona Inc, a massive multi-player on-line game (MMOG) infrastructure developer. Participated in raising capital to launch the venture. Zona is located in Palo Alto, CA.
